In five months of 2017, 658 children returned to their homes after rehabilitation from inpatient departments of social services for families and children of the Moscow region, according to a REGNUM correspondent in the office of the first deputy chairman of the government of the Moscow region Olga Zabralova.

“The child returns to his parents if the situation in the family improves. For five months of 2017, 75% of the total number of pupils who underwent rehabilitation returned to their families,”Zabralova said.
In the Moscow region, there are 59 institutions of social services for families and children. They are divided into 24-hour hospitals and day hospitals. Children can stay in institutions of the first type for an unlimited time until the situation in their families returns to normal.
“Employees of the Commission on Minors' Affairs, social assistance services, centers of social services for families and children closely cooperate with each other, exchange all data and information about dysfunctional families and children living in them, complement each other. Everything is subordinate to the tasks in order to preserve families, create normal conditions for the life and development of children in them,”the press service of the regional government said.
Recall that centers for social assistance to families and children were created in accordance with the decree of the Ministry of Social Protection of the Population in 1993. They are supported by regional budgets. The centers are engaged in the prevention of neglect and homelessness, provision of temporary accommodation, social assistance and rehabilitation of minors in difficult life situations.
