In November, the Zumba-Gold dance project for the older generation, initiated by the Moscow Department of Labor and Social Protection, was launched in the capital's territorial social service centers. An active and dynamic program is designed specifically taking into account the physical capabilities of older people who respect a healthy lifestyle. The fitness program is designed specifically for people with disabilities or impaired health,”says Elena Konnova, director of the Orekhovo shopping center. “Indeed, among our visitors there are also those who are in rehabilitation after illnesses and injuries. Of course, first of all, they want to lose weight, strengthen their muscles, and develop flexibility.
Some are attracted by the novelty - not every day you will find dance courses for the elderly with perky modern music. All exercises, whether they are very light or higher, are performed under the supervision of a professional fitness instructor. No seriousness or static performance of the same elements: at first glance, the training looks more like a dance holiday. And the simplicity of the movements allows you to remember them almost the first time.
“Zumba-Gold has a positive effect not only on the body, but also on the mood,” says Konnova.
A regular activity lasts about 15 minutes - the ideal time to get a boost of vivacity without overloading the body. A warm-up to warm up the muscles and a cool down to restore the heart rate are mandatory.
- Before starting any workouts, you still need to consult with your doctor, - fitness instructor Victoria Malunova advises. - As for the visitors of the TCSO, their health is monitored by the doctors of the centers. Choosing exercises, we pay attention to the level of physical fitness of people.
Every day the Zumba-Gold program is becoming more and more popular among the TCSO visitors. And this proves once again that life only begins in the golden age!
