Rostov midfielder Christian Noboa spoke about how he spends the winter holidays.
- In fact, despite the fact that I have been living in Russia for so many years, we spend every New Year on the beach. My whole family always gathers there - parents, brothers, sisters - there we celebrate. We have a custom: we make a stuffed animal, a paper doll, and burn it. Everyone chooses the face for this doll himself - the one that symbolizes the outgoing year for him. This is done in order to leave all the adversity of the past year and enter the new year, so to speak, clean. The doll is burned right before the New Year begins.
- When you first went to Russia, could you imagine marrying a Russian girl?
- No way. There was not even a thought that someday I would have a Russian wife, and I myself would become a part of this culture. It was a big surprise for me. When I first came to play, we met Olga in Kazan. I realized that I wanted to be with her, my whole family supported my choice, and a little later we got married. It was a little difficult to adapt to another country, to other customs, but thanks to our strong character, we survived everything and stayed together,”R-Sport quotes Noboa.
Recall that 31-year-old Noboa has been living in Russia since 2007. First he played for Rubin, then for Dynamo, now he plays for Rostov. This season, he played 13 matches for the Don club in the Russian championship and scored one goal.
