Haute Couture Week has ended in Paris. Zuhair Murad and Valentino showcased outfits in all sorts of shades of gray. Also, gray has become the central color in the collections of Dior and Chanel. Reported by the South China Morning Post.
Fashion designer Zuhair Murad presented the collection in powdery shades. Sheer evening gowns are embellished with beads, feathers and crystals. “The dresses in this collection may seem heavy because there is a lot of embroidery and ornamentation, but they are actually very light,” said the Lebanese designer.
In the process of creating the collection for Valentino, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli was inspired by the religious paintings of the Spanish artist Francisco de Subaran. The bags, made in the shape of animal heads, symbolize the seven deadly sins.
Zuhair Murad is a French clothing and accessories brand. The fashion house was founded in 1997 by the Lebanese-born designer Zuhair Murad.
Valentino is an Italian fashion house specializing in the production of men's and women's clothing, accessories and perfumes. Founded by Italian fashion designer Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani. For wedding ceremonies, the dresses of the house were chosen by Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis, Courtney Cox and Jennifer Lopez. For 2016, the creative director of the brand is Pierpaolo Piccioli.
