President of the public organization "Miss Tatarstan" Izolda Sakharova commented on the scandal that erupted around the swimsuits in which the girls came out in the final of the competition.

“We were compared to some four letters (BDSM - ed.), The meaning of which we did not know. Only an inflamed brain, preoccupied with something, could see in what we were laying some four letters. These hats were invented by the designer in some general style. I'm surprised,”says Izolda Sakharova.
She also added that the Miss Tatarstan contest is aimed at educating young people, as well as promoting harmonious and natural beauty.
In addition, she noted that it makes no sense to remove the fashion show in swimsuits from the competition.
“How can you evaluate a girl without considering her figure, her gracefulness? What's wrong with that? I do not understand. They say, they say, we have a Muslim republic, but girls on our beaches do not bathe in hijabs,”she said.
Recall that the British edition of the Daily Mail criticized the swimsuit competition, which was presented in the final of "Miss Tatarstan". Correspondents called the participants' jewelry as headwear "in the form of cages, similar to bondage accessories" (one of the components of BDSM - ed.).
Zulfiya Sharafeeva became the winner of the Miss Tatarstan contest. The title "Miss Kazan-2017" was given to Kamilya Kharisova.
