The most common victims of telephone scammers pretending to be bank employees are single men aged 28-37 with higher education. The portrait of a typical victim was described by the chairman of the board of KB FinTech, Tatyana Fedortsova, reports the Prime agency.

According to her, men become victims of malefactors in 57 percent of cases, while women - in 43 percent. The specialist pointed out that Russians under 25 are more often persuaded to transfer money from one account to another. At the same time, senior citizens are six times more likely to disclose their card details to outsiders. Also, the likelihood of losing money is three times higher among cardholders with higher education.

Fedortsova added that most of the victims of fraudsters are single people or people living in a civil marriage. “Russian family members tend to coordinate all decisions regarding money with each other, which protects them from the danger of losing their funds,” she explained.

It is known that controlled people become victims of phone scams - for example, it is easy for them to impose an unnecessary purchase in a store. It is easier for attackers to force young people who do not know about the main principles of confidentiality, or retirees, who are easier to make contact with strangers and are afraid of the pictures they describe of losing money, to commit a rash act.

“The frivolity of youth and the habit of being open is also key for scammers who use other means to influence this category. They promise quick and easy money, supposedly payments from the state, to which young people often react,”concluded Fedortsova.

Earlier, the Central Bank told how to talk to telephone scammers, and taught Russians how to communicate with them. After accepting a call, you should not use simple words like "yes", and the best way to deal with it is to simply end the conversation.
